My Wedding Dress {A Tenth Letter To My Daughter}

Dear Baby Girl, It’s been ten years since I started taking your pictures in my wedding dress and each and every year I think, “How did we get here? How are you this old already?” You turned the big 13 last month and you really filled out my dress (no clamps needed to hold it on you the past two years). You are as spunky as ever and your hair keeps getting longer and a bit more wild just like you. You got braces this year (but you still eat all the gummy candies that you aren’t supposed to) and you play the flute and French horn. Every time I look at you, I can’t believe I had a part in how beautiful and bright you are. You have always had a little fire in you, a kindness to your spirit, and a love of encouraging others. You are also growing into your teen years of independence, more frequent eye rolls, and wanting more privacy. It’s hard for me to not think of you as my little baby, and even more so since you are my last child. When older ladies would tell me to enjoy you being little because it goes fast, I got a little annoyed, but they were right. The days can be long, but the years go by so fast. I am so grateful to be your mom. I learn from you every day and I know God has big plans for you. Love you to the moon and back,

Mom
