Dear Baby Girl, I can’t believe how much you’ve changed in a year. This is the first year we didn’t have to use clips for my dress to stay on you, and quite frankly, I’m in disbelief. How is this even possible? You are supposed to stay little forever…well at least in my mind you will always be my baby girl. This year you changed from playing with LOL Dolls to having Laneige lip masks. Your squishmallows were replaced with Sol De Janeiro perfumes and you won’t let me touch your hair (I was never good at styling it anyway). Even though I took your pictures a few months ago, I’ve been putting off writing this because it feels a bit different, maybe it’s because I can really see the young woman you are becoming and I want time to slow down. Maybe it’s because you are my last child and I want to hold onto your childhood as long as possible. As I think about what I want to write about, the same things keep coming to my mind, which is how bubbly you are. How you have this bright spirit, how you smile when you make a basket in your game and keep smiling for the rest of the quarter, how you laugh and giggle, how you get excited about little things, how you are becoming independent. Your teenage attitude has shown it’s head a few times too, but as long as we keep good communication, I know we will weather these next few years closer than ever. You like to encourage people. You are constantly writing notes to your friends and uplifting them. You have a gift and you make me a better person. I love you so much and I’m so happy God has put you in our family. Don’t ever feel like you have to snuff out your light, you were made to shine. I love you with my entire heart and always will,
